"Kroki`s Schulschwimmprojekt KSSP"

Learning to swim is very important. Even before the corona pandemic, too many children in Germany were non-swimmers. According to statistics of the DLRG (german live saving association) almost 60 percent of the ten-year-olds in Germany are considered to be not safe swimmers. Since the "Seeperdchen" certificate means that your child is able to keep himself above the water for about 25 m, which does not mean that the child is a safe swimmer. It only give the children motivation during the process of learning swimmen. According to these facts, the official statistics that count swimmers do not include those children, who already achieved the "Seepferdchen" level. Children are considered to be safe swimmers after passing the Bronze Level. In Germany they have three different swimming levels, which are Bronze, Silver and Gold.

In the last few months we have repeatedly received inquiries from schools asking us to support them during the swimming classes at school.

My name is Amr Abouelmaaty. 10 years ago I decided to move to Germany with my family. Germany has offered me a lot since then and i feel that today is the time to give something back. As a former successful competitive swimmer and swimming coach for many years, I decided to support schools in our hometown Düsseldorf. As part of the "Kroki`s school swimming project KSSP", we support free of charge with our unique concept and our own experienced trainers and help solving the problem of too many non-swimmers at school.

If you are a school in Nord Rhein Westphalia and interested to know more about our KSSP project, please contact us or send us an e-mail to

Best regards and stay healthy!
